The Pike Run Equine 4-H Club meets the first Saturday of
every month at 2:00 in our meeting house. It is a great
experience for kids ages 8-18 to learn about horses and
develop skills essential to becoming responsible adults. We
plan to go to four Trophy series shows and four Silver Saddles
practice shows. We offer the following programs:

Those whom own a horse- Will receive a book in which they
will describe their horse. From then on, their activity book
will guide them through varies activities which we will go over
at the meetings. The books are designed to be done on an
independent basis (not at the meetings) and will be used as the
guidelines for discussion. The member cannot switch horses
throughout the 4-H year.

Those whom lease a horse- Those whom lease a horse must
sign a lease for a year. Because the member is not allowed to
switch horses throughout the 4-H year in order to show at the
fair, the member must be in a lease commitment for one year.
If they do not lease a horse continuously for a year, they will
not be able to show at the fair. The same type of book that is
given to those whom own a horse (see above) will be given to
those whom lease. The lease must be registered with 4H by
June 1st of the current year. WPREC has several horses
available for lease.

Those whom do not own or lease a horse- Those whom do
not own or lease a horse will not be able to show at the fair,
but will be able to show at the Silver Saddle series and at the
Trophy Series throughout the year. The members will be
apart of the "Horseless" program and will be able to utilize the
lesson horses during theses events. Lesson horses will have to
be shared by two or more students.
